Compact hot tubs are the right pick for narrow patios, balconies, and yards where a 6-7 person tub won’t physically fit. Footprint matters more than seat count. Here are the picks ranked by Value Score where scored.

What we rejected and why
What we excluded for footprint or access.
- Tubs over 6.5′ on the long axis: Won’t fit through standard backyard gates without disassembly. The “we need a crane” install adds $400–$1,500 you don’t need to pay.
- 240v models that need a 50-amp dedicated circuit: Small-yard installs often back up against existing electrical that can’t handle the additional load. Plug-and-play 120v wins this category.
- 7+ person tubs: Different category. They’re right for some yards, but not “small backyards.” If you have the space, the ranking changes.
