Our take
This is the tub I’d recommend if you can’t bear another night of research. The LS200 Hot Tub 4-Person, 13-Jet is the highest-scored 120v plug-and-play tub on the site. Most of its score comes from the boring stuff cheap tubs miss: insulation, cover R-value, energy draw, and pump reliability. The four things that decide whether you still love the tub at year five all clear the bar. PDC Spas builds it in Pennsylvania. They’ve been making spas since 1958. Roto-molded HDPE shell, R-15+ tapered cover, $30 to $50 monthly run cost in mild climates and $60 to $90 in real cold weather.
Here’s what you give up. It’s a 120v plug-and-play, so you can’t run heater and jets at the same time on a 15-amp circuit. Every soak drops the temperature 2 to 4 degrees that takes 30 to 60 minutes to recover. In summer that’s nothing. In a Minnesota winter, plan your soak schedule around heating cycles. Jets are moderate, not therapeutic. If you have chronic back pain or you’re buying for hydrotherapy, the Marquis Spirit or the Bullfrog A8L are different categories of product.
Score is 78. Price-to-value at this voltage class is hard to beat. The right answer for the household that wants a daily-use relaxation tub without surprises on the energy bill or the warranty claim.
Score breakdown
Every tub on this site is scored on the same eight factors with the same weights. This model’s sub-scores break down like this:
| Factor | Weight | This tub |
|---|---|---|
| Price-to-features value Price-to-features value vs same-tier competitors | 20% | 8/10 |
| Setup 120v vs 240v, GFCI, pad, gate access | 15% | 8/10 |
| Energy Insulation, cover R-value, owner reports in cold climates | 15% | 8/10 |
| Durability Shell, frame, warranty length, three-winter outcomes | 15% | 8/10 |
| Comfort Seat sculpting, depth, ergonomics, lounger realism | 10% | 7/10 |
| Jets Pump HP per active jet, real pressure under load | 10% | 7/10 |
| Maintenance Filters, water care, drain frequency, parts availability | 10% | 8/10 |
| Warranty Length, fine print, actual claim experiences | 5% | 8/10 |
How the math works: Each 0–10 sub-score is multiplied by its weight, summed, scaled to 100. Sub-scores above sum to 78/100, matching the headline score. Read the full Hot Tub Value Score methodology for what each factor measures and why we weight them the way we do.
Best for / skip if
Best for: Year-round buyers in moderate-to-cold climates who want a tub that just works without constant maintenance.
Skip if: You’re shopping primarily for therapy-grade jet pressure or maximum jet count — this prioritizes insulation and reliability over jet aggressiveness.

Installation requirements
Electrical
Use a dedicated grounded 15 amp wall outlet for 115V plug-and-play operation. If the outlet, grounding, GFCI protection, or local code is uncertain, use a licensed electrician.
Base and support
Plan for 2,805 lb filled weight before adding people. Concrete, reinforced pavers, or a properly rated deck are the realistic options.
Delivery clearance
The published footprint is 66 by 77 inches. Confirm gate width, turns, steps, overhead branches, and the final pad route before delivery.
Startup
Fill before applying power. Keep the water level above the filter ring or highest jets, then prime the pump and check the equipment area for leaks after startup.
Compatible accessories and replacement parts
| Sanitizer | FROG @ease / FROG-compatible mineral and SmartChlor cartridges for compatible Lifesmart filter compartments. |
| Cover | Weatherwise thermal locking cover is listed by Lifesmart. For replacement covers, match the 66 x 77 inch footprint, corner radius, skirt length, and strap layout. |
| Filter | Use the current Lifesmart filter part matched by serial/model before ordering. |
| Steps | Choose spa steps sized for a 29 inch cabinet height. Confirm the step width does not block the equipment access panel. |
| Cover lifter | Use a cover lifter compatible with the cabinet and available rear/side clearance. Some lifters need drilling or clearance behind the tub. |
